Ilan lived in Japan for 5 years to study with a highly regarded acupuncturist, in a traditional mentorship. Ilan was immersed in the Eastern lifestyle and philosophy learning the language to study Classical Chinese medical texts.
Ilan’s mentorship was strict and encompassing, as was the mentorship of his mentor and the long line of Japanese acupuncture mentor/apprentice relationships before them.
Ilan has also studied Tai Chi Chuan, I Chuan and Qi Gung and he continues to practice these arts daily to gain a better understanding of Ki (Qi).
With a continued desire to deepen his understanding of oriental philosophy and to further enhance and refine his skills, Ilan remains up to date with both Eastern and Western medical research and developments.
Ilan is also currently a Ph.D. candidate in moxa.
